In 4 days, 42 bakers have pledged to create over 60 bakes to raise funds for Austin's Foundation Communities!  We're so excited to be supporting this amazing organization, just in time for International Peace Day!

About Foundation Communities:

Creating Housing where Families Succeed since 1990

Foundation Communities is a local, homegrown nonprofit. They provide affordable, attractive homes and free on-site support services for thousands of families with kids, as well as veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.

They offer an innovative, proven model that empowers residents and neighbors to achieve educational success, financial stability, and healthier lifestyles. They own and operate 23 communities all over Austin and in North Texas.

What makes Foundation Communities so unique:

  • Sustainable Non-profit Model

    • About 80% of their budget comes from the affordable rents our residents pay, which cover operating expenses for their communities.

  • Environmental Commitment

    • Foundation Communities invests in green building initiatives to save on operating costs, reduce residents’ utility bills and make our community a better place to live.

  • Volunteer-Powered

    • FC programs are made possible in large part by more than 2,500 volunteers each year.

Thanks to our partners on this campaign, Bosslady's Bakery and The Crunchy Fairy!

In 5 days, 46 bakers made 60 bakes, garnered nearly 600 unique bids, and along with 155 volunteers, sponsors, bidders, donors and advocates raised $8,1000 dollars for BlackArtMattersATX, a joint project of the Austin Justice Coalition and the Austin Creative Alliance.

In addition to this amazing feat, several community partners stepped up to sponsor this campaign, including Amy Minor Realty, Awkward Auntie, Barton Springs Mill, Batch Craft Beers & Kolaches, Bravo Break Rooms, Shrewd Productions, TX Brokers, Violet Crown Clubhouse, and Wright Bros. Brew & Brew.

Thanks to all our amazing partners, and to the Austin Chronicle and KUT.org for promoting this campaign!

In four days, 16 bakers made 22 bakes, garnered 226 bids, and received 78 donations, totaling $5,339 dollars, which translates to 21,356 meals for the Central Texas Food Bank.

In addition to this amazing feat, Siete Family Foods doubled all donations CTFB through 5.31.20, so our $5,339 became $10,678 with their help. Because of that match, we were able to donate 42,712 meals to the food bank. Thanks for the partnership, Siete!
